From as far back as I can remember I have always wanted to teach. I attended Southwest Texas State from 1990-1994 in San Marcos and thought long and hard about what I wanted to do with my life. Teaching always can up first. I was lucky enough to do my student teaching at Cedar Creek Elementary in 1994. I had a fabulous mentor and a great year with a third grade class. I received a call two weeks before the start of the new year and was offered a fourth grade position at Cedar Creek. I was in heaven. Well, as you may or may not know most new teachers move from grade to grade to fill openings and only a few are lucky enough to stay in one grade for any length of time. That year ended and I was offered a fifth grade position for the following year at Cedar Creek. I wasn't sure about the big kids, but I accepted, and the rest is history. I found my calling. I have been a fifth grade teacher at Cedar Creek for 20 years. I get to work with the most interesting, creative minds and I am blessed to have such a wonderful job. My wish is to pass on the goodness and wisdom I have learned to each generation I teach.
